TV Not Displaying Anything

Check to see if TV has power, is on correct input, and check all cables.

  1. Check the Basics:

    • Ensure the Apple TV is powered on and the indicator light is on.
    • Verify the TV is on and set to the correct input source for the Apple TV.
    • Check all cables (power, HDMI) are securely connected to both the Apple TV and the TV.
  2. Network Connectivity:

    • Test Internet Connection: Go to "Settings" > "Network" on the Apple TV and confirm it's connected to the Wi-Fi. If not, try reconnecting or restarting the Apple TV.
    • Check Restaurant Network: If other devices in the restaurant are also experiencing internet issues, the problem may be with the restaurant's internet connection itself. Contact your internet service provider (Granite Telecommunications for Dairy Queen or Viking Cloud for Schlotzsky's) for assistance.
  3. Restart Devices:

    • Restart Apple TV: Go to "Settings" > "System" > "Restart."
    • Restart TV: Unplug the TV from the power outlet for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.

Advanced Troubleshooting:

  1. Atmosphere App Issues:

    • Force Quit Atmosphere: Double-tap the "TV" button on the Apple TV remote, then swipe up on the Atmosphere app to close it. Relaunch the app.
    • Check for Atmosphere Updates: Go to the App Store on the Apple TV, search for "Atmosphere," and see if an update is available.
    • Reinstall Atmosphere: If updating doesn't help, try deleting and reinstalling the Atmosphere app.
  2. Apple TV Software Update:

    • Go to "Settings" > "System" > "Software Updates" and check for any available updates for the Apple TV.
  3. Audio/Video Issues:

    • Check TV Settings: Make sure the TV's picture and sound settings are configured correctly.
    • Try a Different HDMI Port: If possible, try connecting the Apple TV to a different HDMI port on the TV.
    • Try a Different HDMI Cable: If you have a spare HDMI cable, try using that to rule out a faulty cable.
  4. Hardware Issues:

    • Apple TV: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, the Apple TV itself may be faulty. Reach out to Atmosphere.
    • TV: If you suspect the TV is the problem, contact IT Department.

Escalation:

  • If you've exhausted all troubleshooting steps and are unable to resolve the issue, escalate the problem to your IT Department for further assistance.
